WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY REVIEW
Driving down long winding roads with views you could spend days looking at it’s not hard to imagine a castle placed just over the next hill. As you follow the river Tweed out in the distance, the first thing you see is the grand Neidpath viaduct leading in to the Forrest and Neidpath tunnel. Standing on the outskirts of the beautiful town of Peebles.
Neidpath castle as a venue for wedding photography is amazing, every room in the castle has its own unique feel and lighting situation, from the grand main bedroom to the 1st floor bar that’s illuminated by one small window in the day and candle light in the evening.
The main bedroom is lit by only one bay window at the entrance and one larger window in the bathroom that’s blocked off from the bedroom by a curtain. All of this just adds to the feel and it shows in the final images, the room has a warm feel with its salmon coloured plaster walls and its traditional décor will add plenty of character to your images. This is one room that you will need to add a little extra light to by using flash be sure to use a CTO gel to match the atmosphere of the room.

NEIDPATH CASTLE CEREMONY ROOM
The ceremony room is located at the very front of the castle and is the first room you enter when coming in through the castles double doors. With its curved white ceiling lit with subtle up lights its an ideal room to capture beautiful ceremony shots. The curved white ceiling is also perfect for bouncing flash should you feel the need to ad that extra light.
As with all rooms in Neidpath you will be wanting to boost your ISO in order to get the best exposure possible without overpowering the vibe with flash.
NEIDPATH CASTLE RECEPTION ROOM
The reception room is a snug well lit room on the 1st floor with large white ceilings leading to a back room with a large fire place. This room is perfect for an 85mm as you can stand off and capture all the action as it happens from any point in the room, the back room also makes a great backdrop for family formals should the weather outside take a turn for the worst.
When it comes to the exterior shots you will be spoiled for choice, there are so many amazing backdrops to choose from, you have the sweeping landscape looked over by the river tweed, the Forrest and then the castle itself all of these make for magical images.
If your lucky during the winter you will be blessed with a snow flurry turning the entire area in to a winter wonderland. Neidpath castle is an amazing venue for wedding photography and photography in general, you will be sure to deliver images to remember for your couples.
